are just getting the most profitable teams to get the most TV revenue. I think the playoff expands to 12 and they likely keep a guaranteed spot for the ACC and Big12. Probably one more for the highest ranked G5. The SEC and Big 10 will most likely fill the other 9 spots but occasionally an extra ACC or Big 12 team will get in. Excluding half of the country for the playoff doesn't make financial sense. Just have your teams dominate and give the other conferences some hope.
