it's completely unreasonable to expect a fanbase to be happy about it or to take the Christian "turn the other cheek" approach.  Holker can do his thing, and the fanbase can do its thing, which is to vent their frustrations.  No threats, no profanity, no comments about his family, etc.  However, saying they are disappointed, angry, frustrated is completely reasonable.  Saying that they don't like him right now is also completely reasonable.  Saying that he quit on the team is also reasonable.

It's completely unreasonable to expect the fanbase to be Christlike while giving a pass completely to Holker.

I'm sure Holker is a big boy.  He expected this very negative response from the fanbase and from teammates.  He's not stupid.  He's also not fragile.  There's no need to defend him on Cougarboard.
