Do it. I've had no problems with creatine
Noticeable muscle gains with no downside. Creatine is cheap, tasteless, easy to mix with a cup of water. Works great.

Why? Your serum creatinine may increase but that is not due to kidney disfunction/failure. It’s just a problem
