I've come around to the idea of the Big12 standing pat unless it's OR and WA, who bring big fanbases (read: $). CO and especially AZ would somewhat cannabalize BYUs recruiting advantages, especially with the PAC in a precarious predicament.
In other words, I don't see we'd really have a significant cost savings adding a nearby "travel partner" school, but we would get added market competiton. Doesn't seem worth it.
In yet other words, I love the idea of BYU, UCLA, & USC being the only schools out west competing for P4 recruits. OR and WA too probably if they can either get unequal revenue share from thr PAC or join the BIG.
If we want a close game, we can always schedule the Little Sisters of the Poor...like Utah. They can force us to blow them out on and off the field.
