In my opinion, it’s too big to really be enjoyed from the top. It’s a really big, really irregular big hole in the ground. Couldn’t even hear my echo. Thanks to my stupid injured leg, I could only hobble around at a few roadside viewpoints. Too hot to enjoy in the summer. Kids weren’t too impressed either. We like Bryce Canyon much more. So if you’re wondering whether it’s worth an 8 hour trip to get from Utah County to the South Rim, make sure you have something else on the itinerary, like rafting the Colorado or waterskiing at Lake Powell.
