Driving on the freeway and I'm at a spot where it goes from two lanes down to one for some construction. I'm focused on the slowing/merging cars ahead of me when I notice an issues in the traffic going the other way (southbound) - they've just driven through the construction and are expanding from one lane to two.

Just as traffic going the opposite direction is leaving construction there are vehicles slowing way down and swerving (including a semi or two) for some reason. I look over the concrete barriers and see three pits running around in the middle of the two lanes.

In all fairness this really is the owners fault, not like there are many terrible put owners though...
