Caleb or any player??? This is such a bizarre argument to me. That is more than most on this board make in a year and at that age, more than most made in several years. That easily makes the difference between affording a house and not affording a house.

Are there other factors? Absolutely. Is BYU a great place? Yes! Is it right for everyone? Not even close. Have some of these players decided BYU is not the right place for them, even if the money is equal? Quite possible.

Talking about others choices about making money, as long as it is reasonable choices (not doing something illegal or obviously likely or very likely extremely risky...), is just dumb.

I would say even at a $100,000 difference that is money that a 20 something should consider seriously. Others have argued that you will make it up later. Who has data on that? I have never seen any. Duke, NC, Kentucky... have had bench players drafted in the NBA (that is millions of $$ almost guaranteed) and most likely anyone on those teams could play international, if they wanted to, so make it up playing international seems an unlikely outcome to me.
