Top second round picks make about what the last of the 1st round makes, but after the first 4-5, the average salary is about $500k per year. The minimum salary in the NBA is just over $1M, but many second-round picks shuffle between the G League and the NBA, so they don't get paid the full minimum. Average salary in Europe is $600,000.00.
So the NCAA and NIL is becoming more attractive for low-end draft picks and for young guys in Europe. If guys can make $600,000 per year in NIL, play 30-35 games, and develop to become a higher NBA draft pick, why not?
