Can someone explain why a high school player would sign an NLI with one school, and therefore be committed for one year to that school (correct?), as opposed to not signing an NLI —in which case their "commitment" does not mean much. I am not so much interested in Chandler per se as I am in this process moving forward. Unless I misunderstand the process, a commitment means nothing unless an NLI is in place, yes? So I guess where I am going with this is why would you ever sign a high school player without an NLI?
