The trusses and support structure fir the door were assembled off-site, to ensure a perfect fit, then disassembled, carted off to Paris, for final assembly.
Each stone was meticulously cleaned, removing not only the smoke damage but also centuries of grime.
The reopened Notre Dame (December 6) will reveal an interior not seen for centuries.

I didn’t realize Notre Dame was being rebuilt using hand carved beams and pegs as fasteners. A true restoration.
