The game was so much different when Stockton came out. It wasn't
about strength, it was about skill. If you could shoot, pass, dribble, etc. That's why white players could actually succeed in the league. Today, the game is more about explosiveness, and one on one situations. There were so many white players in the league back then compared to now. Larry Bird, Mark Price, Craig Eloh, Jeff Hornacek, Bobby Hansen, Steve Kerr, Chris Mullin, Bill Lambier, Kevin Mchale, Scott Skiles, Tom Chambers, and on an on. Today, many of these guys just wouldn't have the perceived strength and explosiveness to succeed and would NOT be given the same chances. A guy like Jimmer would have thrived in the eighties, up and down type game.

Look at the size of these players today, then go watch a game from 1984 and it's not even close. The game in the eighties was beautiful to watch. It was pure skills and less muscle.
