Despite the championship game's winner between San Diego State and AFA, IMO SDSU will remain in San Diego to play in their hometown bowl. This leaves the Vegas Bowl to choose between AFA and BYU.

Why iMO the Vegas Bowl will select AFA (8-3) or BYU (8-3):

Pros for AFA: air base located in Vegas (built-in fan base)
Pros for BYU: guarantee sellout local fan base plus a fan base that travels, national TV draw, take a 9-3 or at worse 8-4 BYU in 2015 or wait until 2017 and gamble on BYU's record being equal too or better against a tougher schedule in '17

Cons for AFA: AFA fans will have traveled to San Diego two weeks earlier for the CCG, a loss to SDSU could reduce the fan base's interest in traveling and attending the Vegas Bowl
Con for BYU: there is no con

IMO and my hope: the Vegas Bowl will extend the invitation to BYU for the above reasons on Bowl Selection Day.
