To some extent that depends on where you live (I know, duh)
But Tesla has a battery system for home use that where solar is productive you could be all or mostly off the grid (a/c could mess it up). You can buy them individually and "stack" them for greater capacity. They are 6 KWh each IIRC for $3k. $3.5K is supposed to buy you 10KWh but IDK if those are out yet.
