That's why, generally speaking, it doesn't make sense to have an airline card
as your go-to spend card. It makes sense to get the initial sign-up bonus but, beyond that, a cash-back or general points card gets you to a more logical spot.

Agreed. Except for airline-specific spend, when they give you 5x or more points.
