One of the unknown "costs" of credit cards, is that you spend more...
So given our society's increased debt, I'm not sure if this is a good thing.
I suspect it is good for the individual businesses and for Visa, but there are many people who would buy things with a card that they really shouldn't be purchasing and wouldn't purchase if they had to have the necessary cash on hand.
