BYU was a hot mess on offense in 2000 (23 ppg)
And Staley was nursing injuries quite a bit of that time (ankle, hamstring). He had a solid freshman year in 1999. Poppinga wasn't around for 1999 or 2000, so he doesn't have first hand experience with any season but 2001.

Also sees Luke Staley as BYU's #6 RB all time.

I can see his argument for Luke being #6 though.

I'm surprised this tweet didn't get more play on here . . .

It seems like every time B-Pop is on a radio interview talking BYU

Bringing a Doak Walker trophy to Provo is like calling an African-born Apostle.

When I saw his highlight video I actually thought the same thing...

Romney is currently 6'2" 180 to 6'3" 200, depending on where you look

Or 6'3", 200, depending on your information source, see

Is he a young HS senior or an old HS senior, 19yrs old. If young then

He does look big and strong here

How does his size compare to Dan Coates?

Dan Coates was way bigger. He was built like a tank - 250ish if I recall.

Not as a true freshman. He started as a WR at BYU then got HUGE

Sounds like you are describing Dennis Pitta.

Nope, Coats was a WR in HS. Didn't play at 250 as a freshman

Gotcha. Good info - he must have bulked up a ton during his RS year.

Was a terrrrible blocker as a Frosh--but to his credit, made it a huge strength.

He'd probably compare more favorably to Harline or Pitta I'd think

I really doubt he'll get converted to TE unless he gets to 6'5"+
