Is he an upgrade from our current staff? Obviously! Freakin' Frank Dolce and Bill Reilly would be at this point. But is he a chronic underachiever? Absolutely. He has had P5 resources he would never get at BYU and still can't get utah over the hump. He can't get a competent offense together for the life of him despite having lot's of $$$$ to throw at offensive coaches. He doesn't deal with an honor code in recruiting. In fact, he actively seeks out potential star transfers that break the law. All these "advantages over BYU" and he's 5-6, staring at bowl ineligibilty.

Whatever you think Whitt is now...which isn't much IMO (but I'm biased and despise the dude,) BYU would get a completely neutered version. The chances of him being successful WITHOUT P5 resources and with HC limitations? Slim to none. He knows it and that's why he will never come. I, for one, hope we never offer him a chance. #neverwhitt
