I think Independence has been a real let down. Other than playing big name schools, it hasn't done anything to elevate the program or lead to more success on the field. Seven straight losses to Utah. Failing to get into the Big 12....and most importantly, not a lot of hope for the future near term.

I think there is also some cognitive dissonance in the fan base right now. What they want to believe BYU "is" is proving not to be the case. What makes it worse, what they have been told BYU is by the athletic department is also proving not to be the case. So people are questioning all kinds of things because what they once knew to be true and sure is actually something very different. Nothing worse than having your faith shaken and starting to doubt everything.
