Being someone of color I figure I may offer a unique perspective. Whenever individuals grow up in extremely homogenous communities (like many communities in Utah) many will be ignorant when it comes to knowledge about other races, religions, cultures, etc. I don't think anything in my previous sentence is groundbreaking or controversial, it makes sense. Many proponents of civil rights view ignorance as racism, I personally do not. Is there ignorance on CB? Absolutely. Racism? Very little to none. And as someone who did a lot of my growing up in homogenous communities I share in that ignorance although I strive to rid myself of it.
