The WCC does have some redeeming values, including Gonzaga and Saint Mary's and better campus locations than most of the MWC schools.

BYU fans in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and the Northwest have better access to BYU basketball than they did in the MWC. There are many more BYU fans and alumni in Los Angeles, Bay Area, and the Northwest than Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Fans in Idaho and Nevada can still make it to Provo fairly easily.
