I do not know the context, so I won't hold judgment on Rose for them. A great recruiting coach says what great players they are and how they will surely succeed.

For example, Jarred Vanderbilt was drafted in the 2nd round out of Kentucky. Calipari was all over the media saying how great of a pick it was for the Nuggets even though I doubt he actually thinks that. He just wants to show future players that he supports his players decisions whatever they are. My guess is that Calipari would have liked to have Vanderbilt another year as he barely played this last year. Then again he may have already recruited for that position knowing Calipari and Kentucky.
