I hope the next Batman trilogy doesn't involve him saving the universe, world, or even the city of Gotham. I would love to see a mystery crime drama pitting the world's greatest detective against The Riddler in stopping a series of burglaries or even a simple ransom.

Have Batman try to intervene in a Mob war.

Have the Joker take over Arkham and demand that Batman be admitted as a patient or he will kill the staff.

The world doesn't need to be at stake, there are lots of great stories that Batman can star in that aren't apocalyptic.
