The problem isn't your telephoto, either your ISO setting is too high or you don't have noise reduction on.

I took it handheld without a tripod so I had to do it 6400 iso

It only worked for me well when I used shutter priority on a tripod

I think the ISO Priority was my problem. I don't think I had it nearly high enough.
