Start with coming up with some better things to say. I've found there is something about a fresh take that people really enjoy. 

Then you could try some smack talk with a little less *yawn*, a little more clever and/or funny. Mean spirited unfunny/unclever comments make everyone think you are a sad old man sitting behind a computer clinging to some day old subway like Gollum in a dark room in the basement of your moms house.
