Cancer is primarily a disease of old people. The longer you live, the more
likely it is you will develop cancer. For example, about half of men over 80 will develop prostate cancer before they die.
Cancer existed in the old days, but since back then most people died of infectious diseases, starvation, or injury not as many lived long enough to die of cancer.
