Not entirely true but I see your point.
I took adderall for ADD for 2 years before deciding I could manage it with different strategies rather than meds. Once i experienced what being normal felt like, i learned to duplicate it without the drug as insane as that sounds. I digress. While adderall probably didnt give me insane energy compared to everyone else, it truly felt like it did.

Without it, I felt burnt out despite never accomplishing anything. With adderall so long as i ate and hydrated properly i felt "normal"which to me honestly felt like unlimited energy because I was so used to not focusing on anything and giving up on everything. Someone may say they get lots of energy from adderall and have ADD and I get it. The abusers have energy beyond that of a normal person which is what I believe you are referring to.
