We're located in Draper and our lease runs out at the end of the year. The company recently sent out a poll for the employees to vote on. A place in Lehi, a different location in Draper or Downtown SLC.
The reactions were extremely passionate. I know commute is a big thing for a lot of people, but I was surprised, as I'm sure the executive team was taken aback at how emotional people were about it. Is commute really #1 for that many people? Several of my co-workers got into some pretty heated debates on which locations were best on a company slack channel until they were told to chill out.
A lot of people are even saying whether they stay here or take a job elsewhere will hinge on where the company decides to move. Would a longer commute suck for me? Sure, but in the end I go where the job is, if it's the right fit for my family and I. IMO most of these people are being big babies.
Is commute time a deal breaker for you?
Lehi got the least amount of votes, Draper got the most and Downtown was right behind Draper.
