None of my five sons were accepted by BYU. Four of the five had better grades than mine. One graduated from MIT, one went to Winthrop & transferred to Central Connecticut after his mission, two went to USU then transferred to Weber State after their missions to save on living expenses. The fifth joined the Navy, went to nuclear submarine school.
