U.S. talent pool isn't deep enough to toss aside veteran players like that.
I like Klinsmann and I really wanted it to work with him as coach, but you can't alienate the best talent and then expect to win on the big stage with B-team Americans.
If Klinsmann had attempted a total rebuild without the best veterans the team would have been pounded, and he probably would have been booted even earlier than he was.
