away from my office. As a result, I often go home and eat left overs for lunch. That way I get to feel like I'm getting out of the office, but I'm not eating junk and I'm not spending money.
Today while I was at home, a guy from Estonia showed up at my door selling educational books and CDs (probably other stuff too). He was struggling with English, but I could definitely understand him. He was working so hard to sell these materials to me, but I'm just not at all interested.
I was polite and listened to him for a few minutes. I let him get through some of his fall back dialogue for when people say they're not interested. And then he finally realized I'm not a potential customer.
Several times this afternoon I've felt bad. I wasn't rude. But here's this guy doing an unenjoyable job and busting his tail to try to make a living. I know I should just leave it behind because I was polite and I'm really not interested in what he was selling. So why do I feel bad?
