What?!? The Coaching staff and organization should be ashamed of themselves
This was a totally predictable and LIKELY outcome.
At that level athletes are demanding so much of their muscles and tendons. Anyone on their staffs who thought this wasn't going to happen, or thought that by some MAGIC it wouldn't happen was acting completely in self interest.
Someone within the organization should have had the courage and the character to tell him not to play.
