Does anyone use automatic bill pay for their mortgage that is initiated from
the source account rather than the mortgage account?
ie, if I pay my mortgage out of my Chase checking account, I would set up the bill pay through Chase rather than through my mortgage provider.
Is it reliable? Is it on time?
The reason I'm asking is I've always set up auto-payments through the mortgage provider that get processed on the 15th every month. As far as I'm aware there's no risk of a late payment since any issues would be their fault anyway (and weekends/holidays are taken into account so some months you actually have until the 17thish). My new mortgage provider, Cenlar, only allows scheduled payments up to the 10th of the month. I want those extra 5 days with my money.
