I learned that people die from it fairly often because the chokehold is not done correctly. I think a similar thing may be happening with your larynx. Basically my throat swelled up and I got blood blisters on my vocal cords and I eventually lost a third of my vocal cords. I also lost my voice for a month and then I lost it again for a month like six months later after cheering really loud at a BYU game. I hope your throat does not have near the problems I had, but it is possible that it is serious.
