Great point - That is where I am too + basketball - Everything else WCC
Maybe even 7 football games would work for me. That basically is where the football program is now. They are playing about 5-7 AAC level teams each year without their bowl access. This would allow BYU to schedule like it is currently and have a conference championship to play for as well as a shot at a major bowl.

The WCC is solid in baseball, cross country, women's soccer and volleyball and a few other Olympic sports.

More than anything other than P5 football BYU needs to improve its basketball competition. The AAC football and basketball would do that.

I'm not sure that either the WCC or the AAC would go for that type of situation, but short of P5 status that would be a great scenario.

It could be problematic to have all sports in the AAC. It costs a lot of time and money for Olympic sports to travel all over. That said, football and basketball are the key sports. Basketball needs to get out of the WCC. It is an embarrassment as has been noted (other than Gonzaga and St. Mary's).

Also, remember it is all about exposure for BYU. Money, while certainly not irrelevant, is not the mission of BYU. AAC women's and men's basketball and football + flexibility to make big time football scheduling would be ideal for the Cougs.
