They probably take your sf from the county assessor or something.

They do, and often those are wrong too, especially if someone added footage

And people trust Zillow estimates (Zestimates) to be quite accurate?!?

Currently Zillow has my home as $60k higher than the next highest house in my subdivision so I'm just counting my gains.
