CrimWalCoug All-American in practice
I went digging on a volleyball forum and found these posts about the Lady Cougs:
“I’d still like to see what a healthy Ballard can do at OH. She showed lots of potential as a RS her freshman year before she got injured.
There seems to be a lot of competition at OH though. It’ll be interesting to see who starts there and see whose healthy.
Who will play six rotations this year??

OH: ??
OH: ??
I’d like to think Robinson has a spot but as mentioned before, lots of competition. We don’t know the status of Miller. And if Ballard has improved. Think Erin Anderson will be making the biggest freshman push for playing time at OH.
MBs: Gneiting & Eschenberg
RS: Grimmer
S: I think WBower will eventually be the lone setter, despite her size
L: Lake
DS1: MBower”

“Thinking of the OH position--I would think Robinson has to play simply because she is the one 6 rotation pin hitter that is available. Am I wrong on this, are Ballard, Anderson or Miller back row pin hitters??? Maybe Grimmer? It seems like BYU really needs either Robinson or Lyman simply because they can play back row. Just my perception going into the season. I will say, that I am always excited to see what young players our coaching staff develops...I think BYU does as good as anyone at developing talent and getting the most of our players.”

“An interesting thought for sure. I have kind of been obsessed with the BYU pin situation because I think that it will ultimately determine BYU's ceiling this year. I had kind of penciled in Grimmer in at the OPP on how high a recruit she was (and what I had heard)...that being said, I love the thought of McKenna swinging back row and being on the court full time for leadership. I think Coach O will have lots of options in addition to McKenna--Ballard, Robinson, Lyman, Anderson and Grimmer. I am certain one of them will have a big year.

Can't wait for the Blue/White scrimmage--we should find out a lot (pin and also setter positions). I am 50/50 on being able to make it.”
