it's a bit of a brutal indication re; where we're really at right now. On a positive note, I don't think we we've fallen off the cliff, though the trajectory is undeniable. Without opining on current coaching, we really must have top 25% coaching at all levels. BYU could be top 25 team half the time w/ current talent imo. I don't compare our talent to other schools, but I totally believe it adequate and equal to what other p5 busters had when they made a statement over the last 2 decades. In the real world, its fairly obvious whether an employee, management, salesperson et al is top 25% within a year or two.
Then there's the very real dynamic of: do we hope to mold, grow that person into top quartile performer and maintain stability or make some changes sooner. Like w/ Bronco, there's always a "be careful what you wish for" vibe. For me the answer, do you have someone ready to roll that fits criteria, because moving on from current, to begin searching, tough risk/reward scenario. Nevermind, I don't know what I'm talking about, my wife's slowly poisoning me w/ antifreeze and my wits, never great to begin with, are gonzo.
