High school football is bigger than the NFL. We had 20k at our first game of the season last Friday. After every win everybody goes to one of the three Waffle Houses in town. They have little tvs showing highlights from the game. All the games are televised and on the radio. The student section is always full and loud and knows what is going on. The band and cheerleaders don't (they played the fight song after we fumbled twice last week and yesterday they started a cheer saying we want a td when we didn't have the ball multiple times). Everybody knows whats going on in college football and all the talk on monday and tuesday is about the games from that weekend, wednesday is about playing football at church that night, thursday and friday is about the high school game and college games that weekend. Everybody goes to tailgate at OU before home games. On road games people go to the church to tailgate or other peoples houses for all day parties.
Man I love football in the south. I'm so glad its back.
