IF....IF BYU could finish with just one loss and be ranked above any G5 could

they take the NY6 spot that is set aside for G5 in the Cotton Bowl or does that go to only the MWC, WAC, AAC, etc?

BYU isn't a G5. They have to get an at-large bid.

But no. It WOULD not happen. BYU doesnt qualify under that rule.

the G5 spot requires a conf. championship. If a 11-1 BYU team got that, sure.

the contract goes to the highest ranked G5 program. BYU isn’t G5
