After BYU blocked the xp and beat the huskies in Seattle. UW would fall to 0-2 and highly ranked BYU improved to 2-0. While sitting in the horrible post game Seattle traffic we decided to tune into the UW sports radio and get the huskies journalists take.

Oh my....excuse after excuse but absolutely wouldn’t let go of the call on Jake locker. Never mind the fact that we blocked it, never mind the fact that they needed some massive help from the refs on that final drive who refused to call holding — some plays were so blatant that our DL were literally being pulled down from the collar of their jersey. Never mind that locker literally threw the ball between 30-40 yards in the air...they just wouldn’t accept the fact that BYU blocked the xp and won the game.

Finally, a fan gets on the call and calls the media guys out for being excessively Whiney and unprofessional. He said exactly what needed to be said — did the refs allow Harvey Unga to run for over 100 yards? Did the refs allow Austin Collie and Dennis Pitta to have several catches in key moments leading to clutch TD’s?

After that call they started giving credit to BYU. They admitted that we won the game fair and square, were back to back conf champions and that we were the better team that day.

Funny that it took some random fan on a call in show to call out a group of professional journalists before they started to come around to the reality that they had plain and simple got beaten by a more talented team.

I bring this up because I also listened to the Boise sports radio last night and this morning. Again, excuse after excuse. It made me grateful for the BYU media. They are refreshingly honest and realistic enough to be professionals about their analysis without making amateur excuses and being poor losers about the whole thing.

BYU was the better team Saturday night. We were also the better team the two saturdays before that, but reality is that we lost and when we did, our guys did a good job owning up to it even if they also admitted that we probably should have won.

Excited to see what happens in Logan. This is going to be one of the biggest games we’ve played vs the Aggie’s. The streak has got to end and it’s a totally winnable game.
