Like it or not, my first instinct was to boo him (I didn't, just the first thought that came into my head) because he didn't choose BYU. I think he realizes at this point the money would have been there either way, but maybe not. You are right he has made a ton of money. I just really wonder if he is happy with everything he did or would do it differently.

If he is honest about the effects being a member of the Church he realizes what he chose wasn't the most influential (again, not saying that is what you should base your decision on).
