I once saw a fight at church basketball that left a guy's nose bloody. A third guy who was in the fight told me after the game, embarassed, that he had to sit in some stake meeting the next day with someone he'd shoved to the ground.

Passions run high, and it doesn't surprise me that we've created a sport that looks a lot like a ritualized battle where real fights occasionally break out.
