Your point is fair, but...
At least superficially, this is kind of silly, and in some ways feels like an almost annual tradition. Start the season with a brutal schedule and the number one quarterback who looks mediocre much of the time, with perhaps some glimpses of brilliance and potential, who gets hurt somewhere close to the end of the gauntlet. Enter number two who looks all world compared to number one, but playing against significantly lower competition. Frankly, I've found this irritating and a bit short sighted.

However, I'll be honest, this feels a bit different to me, and I don't think it's necessarily an obvious choice. We have some evidence for Zach against poor teams...Toledo's pretty bad. Tennessee maybe isn't as bad as we thought, but they certainly aren't a special team. BR has appeared to make better decisions than Zach, at least some of the time. His arm probably isn't as strong, perhaps overall potential not as high, and probably slower than Zach. However, I think many would prefer the quarterback who makes the best decisions (because those lead to more wins). Now...regarding decisions, is this because of coaching issues (e.g., did the coaches simplify things for BR compared to Zach?)? Maybe the issue is coaching? I don't know. And I don't know which of the two I would choose, I'm just not sure it's completely obvious to everyone, and I'm not sure people who think BR is the right choice are naive, clueless, etc....
