Big10 refusal to schedule P5 opponents shouldn't be rewarded
If tOSU wins this game, then I suppose they at least have a case to be invited. (Of course we all know what they did last time they were invited)
But if they lose...Neither them nor Wiscy scheduled a P5 opponent this year. The 3rd best Big10 team, Penn St, at least scheduled one, Kentucky (But of course lost to this last place SEC East team). So if only one of the top 3 teams in the conference even dared to schedule a P5 opponent, and then lost to that single P5 opponent, the conference shouldn't be rewarded with an at-large type berth. Otherwise, you're just rewarding fear-based scheduling and incestuous wins against opponents in an inferior conference that hasn't scored a single playoff point in 5 years. They haven't shown they deserve respect beyond a possible invite to their conference champ. (Maybe let them have do a play-in game with the Pac 12 champ). If they want respect, let them schedule some P5 teams and earn it on the field against them.
