Necessarily a bad thing. My personality would have been that of instant regret and remorse and would’ve affected my confidence in that situation.

Alex obviously didn’t mean for it to happen but, possibly due to confidence or something else, didn’t feel it necessary to stop what he was doing to apologize. I’m not saying that not apologizing in the moment was right or wrong but I do think it might have helped him continue to have confidence and play well.
