Independence and everything that comes with it (Let's not get into a fight over why BYU is independent. The fact is that independence as it is now constituted has had a VERY detrimental effect on the strength that BYU's program is viewed nationally.) have tremendously hurt BYU's on-the-field performance. CB's own "die-hard" followers of BYU football are testifying that BYU football is now less relevant in their lives than every before.

As of right now, only 5 of 25 respondents (that's 20% for the non-math folks) have said they are going to watch the bowl game live on TV. I'm not one of those 5. BYU is currently less relevant in my life than at any time in my 50+ years...all thanks to Independence.
