We got a nixplay for my wife's parents and it works well. But I think the easiest is to get a Chromecast for their
TV and set it to show pics from a shared Google photos album.
I did that on our TV and it works great, is a big screen and super easy to add new photos to the shared album.
Doing it again, that's what I'd do for the grandparents.
