They do when they can, but it’s very difficult to do
To keep en eye on your man and turn your head for the ball. Thats what makes the guys who can do it so much better than the rest of the defenders.
A lot of receivers struggle to find the ball and they know the route they are running as well as when the balk is supposed to come to them, and still struggle to make the play at times.
