He was playing with 3 HOFers. I'm not saying he's a talentless bum. But it's a

whole lot easier to rack up stats in the box score when you are playing with 3 HOFers than it is when you are the number 1 or 2 option on your team. Every NBA team has around 100 possessions a game. The best teams get that many and the worst teams do. Stats are going to be accrued no matter what. Somebody has to get those assists and rebounds.
