It’s a big issue when they become comfortable around people, especially around kids. We were told that it happens when there’s an abundance of small animals, ie. food. We set up a live trap, usually had a small animal in there every morning, then called animal control who would take the animal and reset the trap for us. Within 6 weeks or so the problem went away.

In our town it was legal to fire a gun as long as it was pointed away from the road, so when word of the problem got out we had guys from the ward and neighborhood camping out to hunt them also, but I don’t think they bagged any.
